BMU VICE-CHANCELLOR PAYS LAST RESPECTS TO LATE DEPUTY GOVERNOR, A FRIEND AND BROTHER.

Professor Dimie Ogoina, Vice-Chancellor of Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) and Management have paid their last respects and homage to the late Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Late Sen. Lawrenc Ewrudjakp during the funeral mass at the st. Paul’s Catholic Church, and interment at his hometown, Ofoni, in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Leading a delegation from the university, the Vice-Chancellor described the late Deputy Governor as a committed public servant and a distinguished son of Bayelsa State whose contributions to governance, peace, and community development will remain enduring.

He expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, his wife Beatrice, the children, the Ofoni community, and the government and people of Bayelsa State over the painful loss.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the visit was not only to honour the memory of the departed leader but also to stand in solidarity with the people of Ofoni at a moment of collective grief. He prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for strength and comfort for the family and community.

Bayelsa Medical University joins the rest of the state in mourning the passing of a leader whose life was marked by service and dedication.

Accompanying the Vice chancellor were Prof. Aloysius Ebi Ligha, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mrs. Helen Wankasi, Governing Council member, Dr. Mrs. Marie Teibowei, SAVC/PRO, Mr. Ikati Clarkson, General Admin, Office Sampou Satellite Campus, Mrs. Peremo Opiah, Secretary Foundation/JUPEP programme, Mr. Lucky Imbasi, Protocol Officer PA to the Vice Chancellor and a host of other staff of the University.
