BMU HOSTS ACCREDITATION VERIFICATION COMMITTEE FOR DENTAL TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME

The Bayelsa Medical University on Tuesday, 19th May, 2026, hosted a five-man Verification Committee from the Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria (DTRBN) for the accreditation exercise of the University’s Dental Technology programme. Welcoming the team to the Main Campus, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dimie Ogoina, highlighted the University’s ASPIRE Agenda and the significant strides recorded in strengthening academic excellence, infrastructure, and professional training. The Registrar/CEO of the Dental Technologists Registration Board of Nigeria, Dr. Idris Ahmad Bappah, noted that Bayelsa Medical University is the first institution in the South-South region and the first State University in Nigeria to establish a Dental Technology programme. As part of the verification exercise, the team inspected key facilities including the Library, Virtual Reality Studio, Prosthetic Laboratory, Dental Technology Plaster and Casting Laboratory, and the Clinical Skills Laboratory. The visit reflects BMU’s continued commitment to advancing innovative medical education and producing globally competitive healthcare professionals.
