Bayelsa Medical University (BMU) on Thursday, August 7th, 2026, hosted members of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFund) on a courtesy visit to its two campuses (Yenagoa Campus and Sampou Campus).
The Vice-Chancellor welcomed the delegation, which included Pharm. Ibrahim Babashehu, Arc. Ashiry M. Yusuf, and Dr Yusuf Gamawa.
During his welcoming remarks, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the university has been looking forward to this visit, as it highlights the institution's growth. Furthermore, he commented that the coming of the team is considered a blessing in academic circles.

Appreciating the Vice-Chancellor for his warm reception, the team lead, Pharm. Ibrahim Babashehu, expressed his awe at the digital and technological development, especially on the university's adoption of artificial intelligence. He also commended the Vice-Chancellor’s leadership and the need for continued support from the fund.
The team started the tour at the Sampou campus, where they were led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Godwill Zikiri. The team visited the Pharmacognosy/Herbal Medicine Laboratory, Pharmaceutical/Medicine Chemistry Laboratory, Clinical Pharmacy Laboratory, and the faculty buildings that were under construction.

At the Yenagoa campus, the team, led by the Ag. Director of Physical Planning, Arc. Nimiye Pere Dick, visited the Nursery Science Skills Laboratory, the University Store House, Department of Medical Laboratory Science Complex, Biochemistry Laboratory, Physiology/Pharamacology Laboratory, and Histology Laboratory.

The visit was completed with a farewell meeting with the Vice-Chancellor.
